Srilanka, Oct. 18 -- Ajoint search operation by three investigative bodies resulted in the seizure of a locked security safe from the residence of Sanjaya Samarasinghe, private secretary to Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, in the early hours of Saturday.

According to Attorney-at-Law Manoj Gamage, media spokesperson for former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, officers from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), Mt Lavinia Police and the Police Special Task Force (STF) searched the residence on Templers Road, Mt Lavinia, for nearly six hours, from 10.30 p.m. on Friday until 4.30 a.m. on Saturday.
