Srilanka, Oct. 19 -- A 90-day detention order has been issued against Ishara Sewwandi, the main suspect in the murder of underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa. She was arrested in Kathmandu and extradited to Sri Lanka last week following a joint operation between Sri Lankan and Nepalese authorities. She is currently held under the custody of the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) for interrogation.
Police investigations are continuing to track down those who aided Ishara Sewwandi to flee the country, Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala said yesterday.
