SriLanka, May 24 -- Hindu devotees commenced the annual Pada Yathra to Kataragama in honour of Lord Murugan on Friday, following religious rituals at the Selva Sannithi Murugan Temple in Thondaimanaru, Valvettithurai, the traditional starting point of the pilgrimage. The nearly 400-kilometre journey, which takes around two months to complete, will attract thousands of devotees from the Northern and the Eastern provinces who walk through the Kumana and Yala National Parks before concluding their pilgrimage with prayers at the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya.
