SriLanka, Aug. 2 -- Foreign investors have shown strong interest in what could become a multi-billion-dollar energy infrastructure project to transform Trincomalee into regional fuel storage, trading and bunkering hub in the Indian Ocean, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Managing Director, Dr. Mayura Neththikumarage told the Sunday Observer yesterday.

The Government expects the project to strengthen Sri Lanka's energy logistics sector, attract long-term foreign investment and position Trincomalee as a regional centre for petroleum storage, trading and bunkering, generating foreign exchange through fuel handling and related maritime services.
