Gem industry calls for reforms to revive exports
Sri Lanka, July 19 -- Sri Lanka's gem and jewellery industry stakeholders are calling for further liberalisation through pragmatic tax reforms to unlock over US$1 billion in export potential, while expressing confidence that several long-standing issues will be resolved ahead of the 34th edition of FACETS Sri Lanka, the country's premier international gem and jewellery trade exhibition, in January 2027.
The 34th edition of FACETS Sri Lanka, organised by the Sri Lanka Gem and Jewellery Association (SLGJA), will take place from January 4-6, 2027 at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.
