Srilanka, Sept. 27 -- At least seven employees of the Polonnaruwa National Nephrology Specialised Hospital (Kidney Hospital) were injured and admitted to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital following a gas cylinder explosion in the hospital kitchen early yesterday.

The incident occurred at around 4.30 a.m. Polonnaruwa Police said it has not yet been established how the gas leak that led to the explosion occurred.

Further investigations are underway.
