Sri Lanka, July 19 -- Eleven more skeletal remains have been uncovered during excavations at the Chemmani mass grave site, with investigators also recovering a copper ring still attached to a finger bone, officials said.

The discoveries were made on Friday, the 35th day of excavations in the third phase of the investigation into the mass grave in Chemmani, Jaffna.

The Jaffna Magistrate's Court had authorised the third phase of excavations to continue for 56 days.

During Friday's operations, investigators identified 11 more skeletal remains, while seven previously identified skeletons were fully excavated and recovered.
