Mysuru, Oct. 5 -- Crater-like pothole surfaces on newly laid road connecting Gayathripuram to Mahadevapura

Barely 15 days after it was asphalted, a newly laid road connecting Gayathripuram to Mahadevapura has developed a large crater-like pothole, raising questions over the quality of the work.

The one-kilometre stretch, coming under Ward No. 30 of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Zone-9, was asphalted on Sept. 19 after remaining neglected for several years. The work began after residents repeatedly demanded it.

However, a deep pothole has appeared in the middle of the road within days of the work being completed.
