Mysore/Mysuru, Feb. 12 -- Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised 'Veena Gaana Navollasa' at Veene Seshanna Bhavan on Adichunchanagiri Road in Kuvempunagar on Feb. 13 at 6 pm.

This annual event, a veena concert in memory of Vid. M.J. Sreenivasa Iyengar (1924-2013), the legendary veena exponent from the city, is sponsored by the family members and disciples of Iyengar. Vid. MJS has been a leading vainika in the Mysore School of Veena playing during later part of the last century.

Vid. D. Srinivas, a top-grade artiste of Akashvani and a much sought-after performer, is presenting the concert this year.

He will be accompanied by Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy on mridanga and Vid. Omkar Rao on ghata.
