Mysuru, Sept. 9 -- As a tribute to 60-year-old Dasara elephant Abhimanyu, who carried the Golden Howdah in Jumboo Savari for six consecutive times, two books titled 'Mounada Mahapayana - Abhimanyuvige Olavina Ole' and 'Abhimanyuvige Kavyarati - Ambari Veerana Akshara Gourava,' authored by senior journalist Ithichanda Ramesh Uthappa, were released at an event organised at City Central Library auditorium, People's Park in Nazarbad this morning.

The programme was jointly organised by Mysuru Cultural Association, Forest Department, City Central Library and Akshi Prakashana, Mysuru.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya said that the books on Abhimanyu is a tribute to wildlife.
