Kushalnagar, June 27 -- Functionaries of the Thanjavur South District Unit of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) offered special puja, homa and a yajna at Talacauvery, the birthplace of the River Cauvery in Kodagu district, on Thursday, praying for abundant rainfall and improved inflows into the river.

The TVK, led by actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay, organised the rituals by engaging local priests and sought divine blessings for widespread rainfall across the Cauvery basin during the southwest monsoon.
