Mysuru, Aug. 22 -- The menace of gangs misleading tourists in Mysuru has drawn the attention of the Tourism Department, with officials considering the introduction of dedicated 'tourist patrolling' at key tourist spots.

Tourism Department Assistant Director V.M. Prabhuswamy told Star of Mysore that although no formal complaints have been received, the issue has surfaced repeatedly during discussions with officials and through posts on social media.

Tourists arriving at popular spots, including Mysuru Palace, the Zoo, Chamundi Hill, the railway station and the bus stand, are being approached by individuals who provide false information about closures or restrictions before diverting them to shops that offer commissions.
