Road to Kaniyanahundi overflows with mourners
Mysuru, July 13 -- The mortal remains being carried in a hearse towards Kaniyanahundi, with hundreds of motorists following the cortege.
The mortal remains of legendary playback singer S. Janaki, fondly known as 'Gana Saraswati,' were taken in a flower-decked glass hearse from Maharaja's College Grounds in Mysuru to Kaniyanahundi village in H.D. Kote taluk, where she was laid to rest.
Throughout the journey, residents of towns and villages lined the route to pay their final respects. Many folded their hands in prayer as the hearse passed, while others captured the poignant moments on their mobile phones. Several mourners were seen in tears as they bid farewell to the iconic singer.
