Mysuru, Oct. 9 -- Echo of girl's rape, murder during Dasara-2025

In the wake of the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl from a nomadic community in Mysuru during last year's Dasara, the District Administration has stepped up measures to protect children accompanying migrant families, prevent child labour and curb abuse of minors during this year's festival.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) R. Aishwarya chaired a meeting at Deputy Commissioner's Office yesterday, attended by officials from Women's Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, Department of Women and Child Development, Don Bosco Children's Home, Destitute Children's Centre and other child protection organisations.
