Mysuru, Aug. 9 -- Footpath vendors thumb their nose at MCC, return to Jumboo Savari route

Despite facing multiple evictions, the street vendors are back in business on the Jumboo Savari route between K.R. Circle and Sayyaji Rao Road.

Pedestrians, who heaved a sigh of relief following the eviction of footpath encroachments in the Central Business District (CBD), were in for a shock as the hawkers had returned with their shops on both sides of Sayyaji Rao Road and around the Makkaji Chowk area.

With the street vendors back in business, it is clear that the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has no hold over them. The MCC has launched 'Operation Footpath' based on a Supreme Court order and the State Government's directions.
