Mysuru, June 14 -- Over 40 participants from across age groups, including 95-year-old H.R. Bapu Satyanarayana and two four-year-old children, took part in a 'Lake Walk at Kukkarahalli Kere' organised this morning as part of the ongoing 'Parisara Habba' celebrations.

The walk began at 7.30 am and was led by environmentalist, wetland expert and educator Prof. U.N. Ravikumar, who guided participants through the ecological and historical significance of the Kukkarahalli Lake.

During the walk, Prof. Ravikumar spoke about lake's history, its biodiversity, the bird species that depend on the ecosystem and the challenges involved in conserving the waterbody.
