Mysuru, Aug. 20 -- By cancelling the allotments of sites distributed under MUDA's 50:50 ratio scheme, the Government has managed to avert what could have been a major embarrassment during the ongoing Legislature Session.

Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa and Legislative Council Member R. Raghu Kautilya had raised a series of questions with Urban Development Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah regarding the MUDA scam and what the Government has done so far on it.

Sources said that these questions were likely to cause considerable discomfort to the Government in the House. The cancellation order has helped Government sidestep the situation.
