A miscreant, diverting the attention of mother and son duo, has allegedly stolen cash and gold jewellery which was kept in the dicky of a scooter.
The mother and son, who lost Rs. 3.40 lakh cash and a pair of gold earrings, are Shakuntala Sahu and Birendra Kumar Sahu, residents of Hootagalli in city.
On Aug. 1, Shakuntala, who was in need of money as she was constructing a house, took her gold ornaments and went to Canara Bank in Hootagalli, along with her son Birendra, where they pledged the gold ornaments and availed a loan of Rs. 3.35 lakh.
