Mysuru, Oct. 23 -- Assures action against Constable responsible for incident

District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah visited Manipal Hospital yesterday evening and enquired the health of five-year-old girl Shishira, who underwent a surgical procedure after suffering serious head injuries during Dasara procession.

The child was injured after being accidentally hit by a Police Constable with his lathi, while watching Jumboo Savari at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Circle in Bannimantap on Oct. 21.

Dr. Yathindra, who spoke to the child's family members, assured all necessary medical and financial help by the State Government. He also assured of Rs. 5 lakh compensation from Chief Minister's Relief Fund apart from extending financial help per...
