India, Aug. 31 -- Mysuru, Aug. 31 (GA&BCT)- A 53-year-old man from Gayathripuram in Mysuru has lost Rs. 13.06 lakh after being duped by a woman he met through a matrimonial website. A case has been registered at the city's Cybercrime, Economic Offences and Narcotics (CEN) Police Station.
According to the complaint, the man came into contact with a woman named Reena through a matrimonial portal on July 31 and the two began chatting.
On Aug. 17, Reena called him and claimed that she was carrying Rs. 1 crore in cash to Mumbai. She later called again, saying that Customs officials had detained her and were demanding payment of taxes and other charges.
