Mysuru, Oct. 15 -- Ambika (42), wife of Dasara elephant Abhimanyu's Mahout Vasantha, passed away at the District Hospital in the wee hours of today in city.

She leaves behind her husband, three sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Ambika, who had accompanied 'Combing Expert' Abhimanyu and her family members to Mysuru, was staying in the temporary accommodation at Mysore Palace premises, complained of sickness three days ago and was admitted to the District Hospital on KRS Road here but she succumbed to illness in the wee hours of today at the hospital. Her body was shifted to Mathigodu in Kodagu this morning and the last rites were held today.
