Three cheers to MCC officials and the Commissioner in particular for the bold decision to remove illegal occupation of the park under high tension power line in Vijayanagar, which was causing much nuisance to traffic, environment and cleanliness in the area (Star of Mysore dated Mar. 12).

Uncontrolled street food business is turning out to be a big challenge. Roadside vendors are breaking the law on five counts:

1. Most of them do business obstructing smooth pedestrian movement. Pedestrians have the first right over the footpath, but they are forced on to the busy roads endangering their safety.

2. Customers often park their vehicles beside these food carts, hindering smooth flow of traffic.
