Mysuru, June 26 -- Prof. A.P. Jayaprakash, who was serving as the Chairman of the Department of Studies in Physics, University of Mysore (UoM), assumed office as the new Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) at Muktagangothri campus here on Thursday evening. He replaces Prof. Sharanappa V. Halse, whose term had ended.

Prof. Jayaprakash will serve as the KSOU VC for a three-year period or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, according to the appointment order issued by the office of the Governor-Chancellor of all State-run Universities.
