Mysuru, June 12 -- A week after South West Monsoon entered the State, scattered heavy rains was received in the city yesterday evening.

The downpour brought some respite from scorching heat but it also exposed an evil deed.

The heavy downpour brought along with it gush of water pressure into the drain systems in city and a four-month-old female foetus was pushed out of an overflowing drain and was found on Bada Makan Main Road in city last night.

Residents of the area, who saw the foetus, panicked and immediately informed the jurisdictional Narasimharaja (NR) Police. The Police rushed to the spot and shifted the foetus to MMC&RI (Mysore Medical College and Research Institute) mortuary for post-mortem.
