Green activists remove nails, lights from trees
Mysuru, Sept. 17 -- Green activists, who had urged authorities to ensure that Dasara illumination is fixed to trees without using nails, clamps or iron pegs, have begun removing the nails hammered into tree trunks and branches.
Since Tuesday, the activists removed nails from trees along Lalitha Mahal Road and took down LED serial lights fixed to the trees. The lights were later handed over to the authorities concerned.
A similar exercise was carried out along Krishnaraja Boulevard, where nails were removed from trees and the light strands were handed over to the authorities.
