Mysuru, Sept. 1 -- Jubilant party workers greet Rizwan with apple, mosambi and rose garlands

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Rizwan Arshad arrived to a grand welcome in the city this morning.

This was his maiden visit to the city, after being sworn-in as the Minister in the Cabinet of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

Rizwan, a native of Mysuru, arrived in his Special Utility Vehicle (SUV) from Bengaluru at Bade Makaan junction near Siddique Nagar in Bannimantap, when he was accorded a thunderous welcome, by his joyous supporters, majority of them being Congress workers belonging to minorities wing from Narasimharaja (NR) Assembly Constituency, with the mood elevated by the beatings of native drums.
