Mandya, Aug. 24 -- An elderly woman, who had been living by begging for several years, died of age-related illness. However, more than Rs. 8 lakh in cash was found at her house in a surprising discovery.

The deceased has been identified as Noor, a resident of Guttalu Layout in Mandya. She died yesterday, following which her relatives and local residents performed her last rites.

After the cremation, when people entered Noor's house, they were shocked to find bundles of currency notes and gunny sacks filled with coins. On counting the cash, the amount was found to be more than Rs. 8 lakh.
