Mysuru, Nov. 6 -- Severely opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, the City and District Units of Congress party staged a demonstration at Gandhi Square in city yesterday.

Addressing the protestors, former District Congress President Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar accused the BJP Government at the Centre of taking full control of the Election Commission. Alleging that the BJP was aiming to again come to power by illegal deletion of voters, he said that the current system cannot be corrected by traditional protests.
