India, March 30 -- Mysuru, Mar. 30 - Hundreds of Digambar Jain community members took out a colourful procession to mark Bhagwan Mahaveer Jayanti celebrations in city this morning.

At 6.30 am today, abhisheka was performed to the idol of Bhagwan Mahaveer at M.L. Vardhamanaiah Jain Boarding Home, near Sangam Theatre on Chandragupta Road using Ashta Gandha, Chandana, milk and others.

Later, three idols of Bhagwan Mahaveer were placed atop three vehicles while a small idol placed on a palanquin was carried out in a procession accompanied by Mangalavadhya, which passed through Halladakeri, Ashoka Road, Nehru Circle, before culminating at the starting point.
