Collective effort needed to make Mysuru drug-free: DCP
Mysuru, Aug. 19 -- Collective effort involving the Police, Health and Education Departments and civil society is essential to make Mysuru a drug-free city, said DCP (Crime and Traffic) K.S. Sundar Raj.
Speaking at the 'Drugs Free Mysuru' awareness programme, organised by Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology (BHIO), in association with St. Philomena's College and other organisations at the BHIO premises in Hebbal here recently, he said that substance abuse could have serious physical, mental, social consequences.
The DCP said that peer pressure is a reason for youngsters to experiment with drugs and added that young people should refuse such offers and inform the Police about those encouraging drug uses or involved in drug peddling...
