Mysuru, Aug. 25 -- The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is planning to renovate and reopen the city's closed pedestrian subways ahead of the upcoming Dasara festival.

Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, MCC Commissioner M.K. Savitha said, the restoration works would be included in the main Dasara tender package to facilitate their early completion.

The works will include clearing accumulated debris, cleaning and sanitising the subways, installing adequate lighting, painting the walls and providing dustbins for proper waste disposal.

CCTV cameras will also be installed to enable round-the-clock monitoring of the passages.
