The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the release of Rs. 183.66 crore for various works to upgrade the Mysore Airport at Mandakalli to international standards. The works include extension of the runway and creation of additional infrastructure.

The decision comes at a time when the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is awaiting the transfer of land required for the expansion and development of the Airport, including runway extension to accommodate larger aircraft.
