Mysuru, Aug. 16 -- Hindu Jagarana Vedike, Mysuru district unit, on the occasion of Akhand Bharat Sankalp Diwas, took out a massive torchlight procession to mark 80th Independence Day in city on Friday.

The procession, which began from Ganapathi Temple at Tilaknagar passed through Mission Hospital Road and other prominent roads of city and culminated in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the Mysore Palace North gate, where a stage programme was held.

Addressing the gathering, RSS leader Keshavamurthy said that the religious practices and opinions of Hindus have equal status in the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He warned the Police not to suppress the rights of Hindus unnecessarily.
