Admiral Stephen T. "Web" Koehler, Commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka from 19 to 21 February 2026, met the Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) at his office in Colombo on 20th February.
The meeting focused on a range of pertinent topics, including shared security challenges, maritime security, improving disaster response capabilities, and opportunities to enhance cooperation, with a significant emphasis on bolstering Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA).
