SQUADRON LEADER RAINI BALASOORIYA ASSUMES DUTIES AS COMMANDING OFFICER OF WOMEN'S WING

Colombo, Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- Sri Lanka Air Force issued the following news release:

Squadron Leader Raini Balasooriya assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of the Women's Wing, Sri Lanka Air Force, on 03 September 2026, becoming the first Lady Officer to hold this appointment. In her new capacity, she is entrusted with providing leadership and direction to women personnel of the Sri Lanka Air Force, with responsibility for their discipline, welfare, professional development, training and career progression.
