Colombo, Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), paid an official visit to the Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters at Defence Headquarters Complex (DHQC) on 18 August.
Upon arrival, the Deputy Minister was received by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Damian Fernando. During the visit, the Commander of the Navy and senior naval officers briefed the Deputy Minister on the Navy's ongoing operational activities, current progress and measures undertaken to safeguard the island and strengthen national security.
