Demonstrating a strong national commitment to environmental conservation, the armed forces joined hands with government institutions, civil organizations, environmental groups, students, and local communities to conduct a series of coastal clean-up programmes across the island under the national 'Clean Sri Lanka' initiative.
The campaign formed part of a nationwide effort to restore and maintain more than 250 identified beaches around the country's coastline.
