Hanoi, June 2 -- Phan affirmed that Viet Nam always attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world with Japan.

Japan is one of the few partners with which Viet Nam maintains a full range of defense cooperation mechanisms, including the deputy ministerial-level defense policy dialogue and staff officer consultations among the naval, ground, and air forces of both countries, noted the host.

He highly appreciated Japan's cooperation and support in such areas as training, defense industry, technology transfer, and post-war recovery.
