Hanoi, Aug. 22 -- Dang had meetings with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas DiNanno, Deputy National Security Advisor Andrew Baker, Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Rick Switzer, National Security Advisor to the Vice President Cliff Sims, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Southeast Asia and ASEAN Affairs Hunt VanderToll as part of his working visit to the U.S. from August 19-20.
During the meetings, U.S. officials spoke highly of the progress made in bilateral relations in recent years, reaffirmed the importance they attach to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Viet Nam, and expressed optimism about the prospects for bilateral cooperation.
