Jakarta, May 28 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 28 May 2026, delivered pre-recorded remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Local Government and Friendship Cities Cooperation (Huangshan) Forum, held in Huangshan City, China. In his remarks, Dr. Kao highlighted the role of local governments in supporting businesses to harness the opportunities from the RCEP Agreement and the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) 3.0 Upgrade Protocol. He also reaffirmed ASEAN's commitment to supporting the effective implementation of the RCEP Agreement and ACFTA 3.0, and to promoting greater coherence between regional and local initiatives.
