Hanoi, July 22 -- The Committee serves as an inter-agency coordinating body responsible for advising the Government and the Prime Minister on the organization, direction and oversight of civil defense activities and disaster-related states of emergency nationwide.
It is also tasked with directing and supervising civil defense command bodies at ministries, ministerial-level and Government agencies, as well as provincial-level civil defense steering committees.
The Committee will advise the Prime Minister on the formulation of policies, laws, strategies, programs, projects and plans concerning civil defense, disaster response, search and rescue, and the management of disaster-related states of emergency.
