Hanoi, April 8 -- Born in 1973 in the northern province of Phu Tho, Tran Duc Thang holds a doctorate and a master's degree in economics, along with a bachelor's degree in finance and banking. He is currently a member of the 14th Politburo.

He began his career at the Ministry of Finance since January 1995. In October 2018, he was appointed Director-General of the Public Asset Management Department under the Ministry of Finance.
