Hanoi, April 17 -- 1. This is the first foreign visit by General Secretary To Lam since he was unanimously elected by the National Assembly as President of Viet Nam on April 7, 2026.
2. Both Viet Nam and China identified the visit as the most important diplomatic activity in the bilateral ties in 2026 when the two countries have entered new development era.
