Hanoi, Oct. 12 -- The visit to Laos on October 8-9 and Cambodia on October 9-10 marked Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's first official visit to the two neighboring countries since taking office. This is also Le's first foreign official visit as Prime Minister of Viet Nam.

During the visit, the Vietnamese Prime Minister held summit meetings with Lao and Cambodian leaders, exchanging views on bilateral relations and issues of shared interests. The discussions helped consolidate political trust, enhance mutual understanding and chart major orientations for advancing Viet Nam's relations with both countries.

The leaders reaffirmed the importance of defense and security cooperation, identifying it as a key pillar of bilateral ties.
