Hanoi, March 28 -- The project, covering an area of 172.6 hectares, is planned to be developed into a modern container port and an international transshipment hub for the Central region. Its design capacity is approximately 5.7 million TEUs per year (equivalent to about 74 million tons of cargo), with projected throughput by 2030 ranging from 14.25 to 36.3 million tons annually.

The port area is designed to have eight container berths with a total quay length of about 2,750 meters, capable of accommodating container vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs. Modern technologies and automation will be applied to improve operational efficiency.
