Jakarta, April 29 -- We, the ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF), express our concern over the evolving situation in the Middle East and its potential implications on global food security, agricultural production, and the stability of agricultural input supply chains, particularly fertilisers. We recognise that disruptions to energy markets, rising transportation costs, and constraints in the supply of key agricultural inputs, including fertilisers, are already exerting pressure on agricultural production systems and food prices, with disproportionate impacts on vulnerable populations across ASEAN.
