Hanoi, June 7 -- The congress, themed "Solidarity-Democracy-Breakthrough-Cooperation-Development", is the major political event of Vietnamese farmers under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

During the two-day congress, the delegates will discuss the Union's specific goals for the next five years.

VNFU is a socio-political organization and a member of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, resonsible for uniting farmers, protecting their legitimate rights and interests, and promoting the development of agriculture and rural areas.
