Waterlogging, power cuts grip Hyderabad after overnight rain
Hyderabad, June 23 -- Heavy overnight rains battered parts of Hyderabad on Monday and Tuesday, June 22 and 23, leaving several neighbourhoods waterlogged, snapping power supply in many areas and snarling traffic across the city.
Chandanagar recorded 12.7 centimetres of rainfall while Lingampally received 11.7 cm - both classified as very heavy rainfall by the Telangana Planning Development Society.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning at 10:30 pm on Monday, alerting residents to light to moderate rain and thundershowers with gusty winds reaching up to 50 kmph across parts of the GHMC area over the following one to two hours.
