UAE detects two Iranian missiles, both fall into sea
Abu Dhabi, Aug. 18 -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) detected two ballistic missiles launched from Iran towards the country on Tuesday, August 18, as regional tensions continued to escalate.
The Ministry of Defence said its air defence systems detected the missiles. The first fell outside the UAE's territorial waters, while the second fell within them.
The ministry said the UAE remained on high alert and that its armed forces were ready to deal with any further threats. Measures were also being taken to protect civilians, critical infrastructure and essential services.

Authorities later reassured residents that the situation across the country was safe.
