Hyderabad, March 3 -- Power utilities successfully met a record peak electricity demand of 18,139 mega watts (MW), registered at 11:01 am on Tuesday, without any interruption, said Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu. He added that this was the highest peak demand ever recorded in the history of the state.

The Telangana Deputy CM noted that in spite of being geographically smaller, the state's power demand reached a level that matches or even surpasses the peak loads of larger states.
